Playing with the longing to escape the world and its crises, Maria Moritz resorts to a rather reduced as well as abstract formal language in her site-specific painting. The color-intensive horizon line depicted in this way seems to completely take over the wall of the exhibition space. A wistfully and romantically charged motif that is, however, inextricably linked to its surroundings and always casts its gaze back to reality.
